About the Role
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will serve as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and the executive owner of enterprise technology and product strategy. This leader will drive scalable architecture, disciplined execution, cybersecurity strength, and AI-enabled innovation across a complex, high-growth legal technology organization. The CTO will oversee Engineering, Product, IT, Data, Infrastructure, and Security, ensuring alignment between technology execution and business objectives.

1. Enterprise Technology Strategy & Governance
- Define and execute the enterprise technology and product roadmap aligned with company growth objectives and long-term value creation.
- Establish clear governance, KPIs, and operating rhythms across engineering, product, IT, and data functions.
- Ensure transparency and executive visibility into roadmap progress, delivery health, and risk posture.
- Align technology investments with revenue growth, customer retention, and operational efficiency goals.
2. Architecture, Infrastructure & Security Leadership
- Modernize and oversee platform architecture and cloud infrastructure (AWS) to ensure scalability, resilience, and performance.
- Strengthen cybersecurity posture, compliance frameworks, governance standards, and enterprise risk management.
- Oversee internal systems, analytics infrastructure, and data architecture to support enterprise-wide decision-making.
- Ensure technology environments meet reliability, uptime, and performance benchmarks required for high-volume legal operations.
3. Product & Engineering Execution
- Drive disciplined product and engineering execution, improving speed, predictability, and quality of delivery.
- Lead and scale high-performing teams across Engineering, Product, IT, and Data, building sustainable leadership depth.
- Embed structured development practices and accountability frameworks across full-stack teams.
- Foster a product-driven culture grounded in operational rigor and continuous improvement.
4. AI & Data Enablement
- Integrate AI-driven capabilities into products and internal operations to generate measurable efficiency and performance gains.
- Advance data-driven decision-making across the organization through analytics, reporting, and intelligent workflows.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to identify automation opportunities that enhance case management and client outcomes.
5. Cross-Functional Leadership & Executive Partnership
- Collaborate closely with the CEO and executive leadership to align technology strategy with overall business objectives.
- Strengthen coordination between technology and operations to optimize internal tools, workflows, and productivity.
- Provide clear, board-level communication on technology strategy, platform health, and long-term scalability planning.
- Prepare the organization for future scale, integration initiatives, or strategic events.
Qualifications & Experience
- 15+ years of progressive experience across technology, engineering, and product, with at least 5 years in senior executive leadership roles such as CTO, CPTO, or VP Engineering.
- Proven success scaling SaaS platforms that directly drive revenue growth and customer retention.
- Strong expertise in cloud architecture (AWS), enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and modern software development environments.
- Experience building and leading full-stack teams, ideally within TypeScript ecosystems (Vue.js, Nest.js preferred).
- Demonstrated success integrating AI capabilities into products and operational workflows.
- Strong operational discipline combined with strategic foresight and willingness to engage hands-on when required.
- Exceptional executive presence with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and influence at board level.
- Exceptional communication skills, executive presence, and strategic influence at board and client levels.
- Advanced degree preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
This role will receive competitive salary, benefits, and variable compensation. Compensation is determined by various factors, including experience, location, and performance. This position is also eligible for variable compensation based on individual and company performance.
