Job Description
As a Yard Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in managing our inventory, ensuring a safe working environment and delegating tasks to yard laborers. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, possess strong administration skills and be capable of handling various tasks related to yard operations. This role will be based in our West Haverstraw depot, and you will report to our operations team.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels. Report any discrepancies or shortages to our operations team. Ensure that dispatch and return shipments match order quantities and assess the condition of returned inventory.
- Administration: Manage required paperwork, organize dockets and possess strong written communication skills.
- Material Handling: Oversee the loading and unloading of materials and equipment components using forklifts and other equipment.
- Yard Maintenance: Keep the yard area organized and free of debris. Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Equipment Operation: Operate machinery, such as forklifts and skid steers, in a safe and responsible manner. Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Adhere to Safety Protocols: Follow safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment. Report on any safety concerns promptly.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to facilitate seamless workflow and meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a construction environment.
- Strong administration skills with the ability to manage a high volume of paperwork.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment safely.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle manual labor tasks in an outdoor environment.
- Understanding of inventory management principles.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Proficient communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Additional Information
In accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws, Stateside Forming Inc. is committed to providing an equitable compensation structure for all roles. The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $100,000 annually, which is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined at the time of offer. Final compensation will be determined at the time of offer and in accordance with internal equity and market data.
