POSITION SUMMARY
The Sourcing Analyst researches and prepares reports on procurement and inventory activities based on purchasing, usage, cost, and CQO initiatives identifying cost saving and expense reduction opportunities. The sourcing analyst plays an active role in problem solving aspects of supply chain using financial tools to complete projects and tasks within scope and budget within the purchasing and inventory management process.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Vendor / Product and Inventory Analysis: 70%
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, their capabilities, and alignment with PPGNY needs and ethical standards.
Analyze proposals and contracts to evaluate pricing, terms, and cost savings.
Uses information and reports from Microix, Finance, and vendor information in preparing recommendations.
Review product placement, reorder points, and usage for inventory at sites and departments.
Prepare analysis and recommendations for Value Analysis and RFP evaluations and decisions.
Cross Functional Collaboration: 20%
Maintain close working relationship with Finance and other departments to align goals within budget and workplans.
Work with site managers to review, analyze and update inventory PARs as appropriate.
Work with department leaders on Value Analysis and projects regarding expense reduction and special projects
Employee Relationships: 10%
Works with department staff and procurement specialists to assist and guide completion of their duties.
Interacts and assists others with all supply chain related needs or training

Qualifications - Associate degree or 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management
- Experience in Value Analysis, CQO, or related expense saving processes
- Knowledge of procurement and inventory management systems
- Supervisory / Management experience working with peer managers
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Requires prolonged sitting and repetitive tasks including use of a computer. Frequent standing, walking, bending. Must be able to walk up and down stairs. Requires lifting or moving of patients/supplies/equipment. Visual acuity sufficient to perform frequent work on a computer screen and review printed reports and other materials. Requires the ability to hear and to communicate orally with others. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets, and medical equipment and will require reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling
