We are currently seeking a talented Audio Video Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates for audiovisual projects, ensuring that proposals meet client requirements and align with project budgets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, experience in service and installation of audiovisual systems, knowledge of video conferencing systems, and exceptional attention to detail.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret bid documents, electronic schematics, architectural blueprints, and project specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
- Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness of estimated materials and labor.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and management teams to develop cost estimates and proposals for audiovisual projects.
- Research and evaluate suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and quotes.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead, using estimating software or spreadsheets.
- Identify potential risks, opportunities, and value engineering options to optimize project costs and profitability.
- Present estimates and proposals, addressing questions and providing clarification as needed.
- Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings with general contractors and directly with end users.
- Knowledge of advanced signal flow for audio, video, and control.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of Procore and PlanGrid is preferred but an aptitude and willingness to learn is essential.
- Advanced knowledge or audio video systems design and implementation: 5 years (preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Crestron, BIAMP and QSC is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong networking skills.
- Ability to travel to various job sites and work safely in a construction environment.
- AVIXA CTS/CTS-D (preferred)
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; College degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in the audiovisual or low-voltage industry required.
