Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Data Analyst with deep expertise in SQL and extensive hands-on experience working with large, complex datasets. This role will support data-driven decision-making by extracting, transforming, analyzing, and visualizing data across multiple sources. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Write advanced SQL queries to extract, clean, and analyze large-scale datasets
- Design and optimize database queries for performance and accuracy
- Perform data validation, quality checks, and anomaly detection
- Analyze structured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
- Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations for stakeholders
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to define data requirements
- Document data definitions, processes, and analytical methodologies
- Support ad-hoc data requests and ongoing analytical projects
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst in a freelance or contract capacity
- Advanced SQL expertise (complex joins, CTEs, window functions, query optimization)
- Strong experience working with large, diverse datasets
- Solid understanding of data modeling and relational databases
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently in a hybrid environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis
