From match grade hunting ammunition, competition, self-defense or everyday target shooting, Global Ordnance orders can be made from the convenience and comfort of your home here at http://www.globalordnance.com Position Summary The Engineering Project Manager (EPM) is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing all engineering activities associated with a complex defense weapon system program, from prototype development through production readiness. The EPM serves as the primary integrator across engineering disciplines, manufacturing partners, quality, and program management to ensure technical objectives are achieved on schedule, within cost, and in compliance with Government requirements. This role supports a high-visibility indirect fire system involving weapon integration, mechanical assemblies, subsystems, and Government test and evaluation support.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance with ITAR, DFAR, and any other relevant regulations and policies.
Lead day-to-day engineering execution across the program, coordinating mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and quality engineering activities
Develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for engineering tasks, milestones, and technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
Serve as the primary interface between engineering teams, program management, manufacturing partners, and Government technical stakeholders
Manage technical risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution throughout the development and production lifecycle
Ensure all engineering activities align with Government-furnished Technical Data Packages (TDPs), applicable MIL-STDs, and contract requirements
Oversee configuration management, change control, and technical baseline integrity
Support preparation and execution of Government-led test and evaluation activities, including test article readiness and technical documentation
Coordinate engineering inputs for cost estimates, production planning, and transition to Full-Rate Production (FRP)
Monitor subcontractor engineering performance and integration across multiple suppliers
Ensure timely delivery of technical data, drawings, analysis, and reports to meet program milestones
Other project and work as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
Candidates must be ITAR Authorized US Persons
Must be lawfully permitted and comfortable working in facilities that handle firearms and munitions.
Must be willing to travel on average 25-30%, both internationally and domestic, travel may vary based on business needs.
Must be able to work on site at our offices in the Tampa Bay Area
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Systems, Manufacturing, or related discipline)
Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering project management or technical program leadership within defense or aerospace programs
Demonstrated experience managing complex mechanical or weapon system development efforts
Strong understanding of DoD acquisition processes, engineering reviews, and configuration management
Experience working with Government customers and supporting Government-led testing activities
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and subcontractor technical performance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications
Experience with indirect fire systems, munitions, weapon integration, or high-consequence mechanical systems
Familiarity with MIL-STDs, AS9100/ISO quality systems, and production-readiness activities
Experience transitioning programs from prototype to production environments
Active or eligible U.S. security clearance
Work Environment This role supports a hands-on engineering program and requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and facilities. Occasional travel to manufacturing sites and Government test locations may be required.
