Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager – Emergency Response Operations is responsible for overseeing warehouse, inventory, and logistics activities in support of time-sensitive, high-impact emergency response operations. This role requires a leader with proven management experience, strong knowledge of shipping and receiving, and the ability to operate effectively in high-pressure, rapidly changing environments.
The ideal candidate brings experience from emergency response, disaster relief, military logistics, or similar operational settings, and can lead teams, maintain accountability of critical supplies, and ensuring rapid deployment readiness.
Primary Job Duties
- Plan, manage, and evaluate warehouse and logistics operations supporting emergency response and operational readiness
- Oversee shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with procedures
- Coordinate procurement, inventory control, transportation, and distribution of mission-critical materials
- Liaise with corporate teams, operations leadership, suppliers, logistics providers, and transportation partners
- Ensure warehouse readiness for surge operations, rapid mobilization, and contingency scenarios
- Collect, interpret, and analyze operational and logistics data to support decision-making
- Assess the impact of logistics changes (routing, carriers, shipping modes, volume fluctuations) and communicate findings
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on speed, accuracy, and resilience
- Establish and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for emergency and routine warehouse operations
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing warehouse team with a focus on accountability and safety
- Maintain KPIs, metrics, reports, and documentation related to warehouse and emergency logistics performance
- Hire, train, and supervise warehouse personnel in emergency response protocols and warehouse best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
- Manage procurement activities and DMG-owned assets, including sourcing, purchasing, tracking, and lifecycle management of inventory, equipment, and materials to ensure readiness for routine operations and emergency response deployments.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and asset accountability for DMG, ensuring real-time visibility of stock levels, condition, and location of critical assets, and coordinating replenishment, audits, and surge inventory requirements as needed.
- Oversee daily warehouse operations and supervise warehouse staff, including work assignments, scheduling, performance monitoring, training, and enforcement of safety and operational procedures.
- Provide high-level oversight of subcontractors and third-party personnel working within DMG facilities, ensuring compliance with DMG standards, safety requirements, security protocols, and scope of work.
- Manage facility oversight and maintenance activities, including coordination of repairs, preventative maintenance, cleanliness, safety inspections, and readiness of the warehouse to support routine and emergency response operations.
- Develop, schedule, and oversee preventative and corrective equipment maintenance programs, ensuring inspections and servicing are completed on required timelines (monthly, semi-annual, annual, or as needed) to maintain operational readiness, safety, and asset longevity.
Qualifications, Skills & Education
- 10+ years of warehouse, logistics, or supply chain experience required, with at least 7 years in a management or supervisory role
- Demonstrated experience in shipping and receiving operations, including routing and delivery coordination
- Prior experience in emergency response, disaster relief, military logistics, public safety operations, or similar high-tempo environments strongly preferred
- Military service background (logistics, supply, transportation, operations, or leadership roles) highly desirable
- Proven ability to lead teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with minimal supervision
- Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Experience managing inventory management systems and fleet management systems
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and database management systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- IATA experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
