Position Summary
The Procurement Manager will lead and oversee all procurement activities for Schwob Energy Services, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services for oil and gas projects. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge and experience in the energy sector to support complex project requirements and maintain compliance with industry standards. This is an in-office position requiring daily presence at the designated Schwob Energy Services office location. The role is fast-paced, stressful at times, and requires the ability to work long hours and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. This position also includes supervising a procurement team to ensure optimal performance and alignment with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project schedules and budgets.
- Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships for mechanical equipment and oil & gas materials.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and field operations to forecast material needs.
- Monitor market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Manage procurement team performance and provide training and mentorship.
- Oversee purchase orders, contracts, and vendor performance evaluations.
- Resolve procurement-related issues promptly to avoid project delays.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years in procurement within oil & gas or heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects and vendor negotiations.
Skills:
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Spectrum or similar), Trimble, and Procure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, work extended hours, and multitask effectively.
KPIs & Performance Metrics
- On-Time Procurement: Maintain a minimum of 95% on-time delivery for all project materials.
- Cost Savings: Achieve annual cost reduction targets through strategic sourcing and negotiation.
- Supplier Performance: Ensure 90% of suppliers meet quality and delivery standards.
- Compliance: Zero procurement-related compliance violations or audit findings.
- Budget Adherence: Keep procurement costs within approved project budgets.
- Team Development: Conduct quarterly training sessions and maintain high team engagement scores.
