Position Title: Trucking Dispatcher

Job Summary:
The Trucking Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing trucking operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and communicating with drivers, lease haulers, and field teams. This role ensures efficient transport of materials for paving, milling, and other construction activities while maintaining accurate records in the Fast Weigh system. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect daily requests from field teams for trucking, paving, milling, and other construction needs.
- Collect daily “stick” requests and coordinate required trucking resources.
- Set up dispatch requests in the Fast Weigh system, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Maintain and update driver lists, specifying which drivers can haul which types of loads.
- Maintain lease hauler lists, including capabilities, locations, and availability.
- Book lease haulers on a daily and weekly basis, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with lease haulers to ensure reliability and responsiveness.
- Coordinate and manage sales truck schedules to meet project timelines.
- Process daily dispatch requests and assign trucks appropriately.
- Request additional trucks from construction dispatch as needed to meet project demands.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, field staff, and lease haulers to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and resolve issues related to scheduling conflicts, truck availability, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activity, hauler schedules, and load assignments.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support organizational goals.
Job Qualifications/ Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics, transportation, or operations preferred.
- Previous experience in trucking dispatch, logistics coordination, or construction operations strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Fast Weigh or similar dispatch and tracking systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 25 pounds
- Ability to obtain Arsenal & FBI Badge
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
