Role Description
- This is a full-time, on-site role for a Supplier Quality Engineer located at our Kent, OH facility. The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of materials, processes, and supplier performance that support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. This role partners closely with Operations, Process Engineering, Supply Chain, and R&D to investigate and resolve quality issues, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The position combines hands-on involvement with testing, inspection, and production interaction, along with ownership of quality systems activities such as nonconformance management, inspection planning, supplier qualification, and ERP documentation. The Supplier Quality Engineer plays a key role in developing and maintaining raw material specifications, managing supplier quality performance, supporting audits and customer concerns, and applying data-driven problem-solving methods to reduce variation, improve cycle time, and ensure compliance with ISO and aerospace quality standards. Lead NCRs, RMAs, corrective and preventive actions (8D, DMAIC). Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Chemical or Materials Engineering is preferred, or a related discipline preferred; alternatively, relevant manufacturing experience (2+ years) may substitute for formal education.
- Experience with polymer / plastic-based products and electrical/mechanical assemblies
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and regulated industries
- 2+ years using analytical techniques (SEM, IR, XRF, microscopy, physical testing)
- Strong root-cause analysis and corrective action experience (DMAIC, 8D)
- Ability to learn and apply aviation and rail regulatory requirements
- Proven continuous improvement and problem-solving skills
- To conform with US export regulations and ITAR 120.15 and EAR Part 772, incumbents for this role must be eligible for any required authorizations from the US government
