Position Summary
Penn Tank Lines is seeking a Terminal Manager to oversee operations at the terminal. This role is responsible for terminal performance, financial oversight, compliance, customer relationships, staffing, and cost management. The ideal candidate brings experience in people leadership, operational oversight, and business performance, with the ability to support a positive and productive work environment.
Salary: Starting at $80,000
Schedule: Full time, exempt. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility based on business needs, including on-call responsibility.
Responsibilities of our Terminal Managers:
- Oversee terminal operations, including cost control and performance outcomes
- Review financial and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Support safety and compliance initiatives focused on loss prevention
- Maintain oversight of service levels and customer commitments
- Evaluate fleet utilization and address performance concerns as needed
- Develop and implement transportation solutions that support profitability and service objectives
- Support business development efforts and ongoing customer relationships
- Hire, train, and manage terminal staff and drivers in accordance with company policies
Qualifications of our Terminal Managers:
- Proven leadership experience with employee development and performance management
- Strong customer service orientation
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with transportation management systems, dispatch, and hours-of-service regulations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Results-focused with strong business judgment
- Comfortable operating in a management role with hands-on responsibility
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs
Requirements of our Terminal Managers:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics or operations management
