We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Manager to oversee customer order fulfillment, vendor coordination, inventory visibility, and transportation strategy for a growing industrial organization. This role is highly operational and requires strong SAP proficiency, analytical skills, and the ability to manage both customer-facing and vendor-facing logistics processes.
This position serves as the central point of coordination between customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery, accurate invoicing, and optimal inventory placement.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Order & Fulfillment Management
- Process customer orders from entry through delivery and invoicing in SAP
- Coordinate order preparation and schedule shipments from warehouses to customers
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding delivery timing, inventory status, and order updates
- Maintain accurate customer records and documentation to support service excellence
- Resolve delivery issues quickly and professionally as they arise
Vendor & Carrier Oversight
- Manage relationships with transportation providers and 3PL partners
- Maintain transportation agreements and ensure all carrier insurance documentation is current
- Evaluate freight options and recommend cost-effective transportation solutions
- Track and maintain carrier performance metrics (safety, quality, on-time delivery)
- Escalate cost deviations or service concerns to leadership when required
Inventory & SAP Operations
- Maintain real-time inventory visibility and reporting
- Analyze supply and demand to ensure product is positioned correctly across locations
- Partner with internal teams on inventory planning and logistics strategy
- Generate accurate weekly and monthly operational reports
- Drive process improvements in order management and logistics workflows
Compliance & Quality
- Support internal quality and compliance requirements
- Document and report any service or product quality concerns
- Ensure strict attention to detail in all documentation and transactions
- Operate effectively in a paperless, system-driven environment
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or 3PL environments
- Hands-on experience with SAP (required) – order processing, inventory, and invoicing
- Strong background in customer order fulfillment and vendor coordination
- Proven ability to manage transportation scheduling and carrier relationships
- Experience analyzing logistics data and reporting KPIs
Preferred Experience
- Background in industrial, manufacturing, or bulk commodity logistics
- Experience coordinating shipments via truck, rail, barge, or dry bulk transportation
- Familiarity with pneumatic trucks and multi-modal transportation
