About the position:
This hands-on, operational-focused role will organize and manage complex cross-department projects, operational initiatives and business priorities and serve as a key resource for others within AKF to help the organization achieve its strategic objectives, grow, scale, and operate efficiently. This is a critical role that creates clarity where there is ambiguity, values compromise and consensus and solves complex problems to drive the organization forward. AKF is seeking a team player who understands all aspects of operational project management and can both use and build those skills in project teams across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Working with cross-departmental teams, develop and track project plans, including schedules, budgets and team roles and responsibilities, ensuring that all tasks and deliverables are assigned and completed on time and within budget
- Develop and maintain corporate funded project budgets, working with Finance and team members to ensure up-to-date status and projections monthly and at year-end
- Lead teams in project execution including monitoring project progress, managing changes in project scope and timelines, identifying project obstacles, managing escalations and providing support to teams balancing competing priorities
- Drive the enhancement of project management processes and capabilities including refining project management approach, processes, structure, and tools
- Maintain project documents and provide financial summaries and reports
- Set and manage expectations, inspire flexibility and trust, drive execution and performance, and maintain close cross-functional alignment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 3-5 years of related project management experience including knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, decision making, analytical and PC skills including MS Office and project management software proficiency
- Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and work streams from planning to delivery, utilizing a variety of project management tools and methodologies
- Ability to assess projects holistically and deliver on time and on budget
- CAPM or PMP and/or comparable project management certifications desirable
- Non-profit, government and/or healthcare industry experience preferred, but not required
