POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dynamic, execution-driven VP of Operations to spearhead the end-to-end operational launch of our new facility, as well as running all functional areas to include fabrication, assembly, and wiring. This is not a role for someone who simply “turns dials”—we need a builder, a strategist, and an operator who can lay the bricks, develop systems, and create a best-in-class manufacturing environment.
The VP of Operations will be responsible for establishing processes, teams, and systems that drive efficiency, quality, and scalability in a low-volume, high-mix, engineered-to-order (ETO) environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader, mentor, and coach—someone who can not only build an operation but also train and develop people within it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership & Execution
- Build and scale the operations of the new facility to meet transaction-ready status within 12 months.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies and systems, workflows, and operational KPIs that ensure quality, efficiency, and scalability.
- Establish best-in-class lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices to drive cost efficiencies and operational excellence.
- Partner with engineering, supply chain, quality, project management, and labor service to optimize end-to-end product development and fulfillment.
Team Development & Leadership
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing operations team with a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Lead by example—developing operational leadership, transferring knowledge, and fostering a coaching culture that scales.
- Build a workforce strategy that balances in-house expertise and strategic outsourcing where necessary.
Strategic Growth & Scalability
- Create and execute a strategic roadmap to scale operations to $100M+ revenue levels.
- Ensure seamless alignment between operations, sales, and finance to meet customer demands and revenue targets. Initial focus will be across manufacturing but will organically scale to include services.
- Develop strong supplier and partner relationships to ensure material availability and cost efficiency.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
- Implement robust quality assurance programs that align with industry standards and customer expectations.
- Drive safety culture to ensure best-in-class workplace health and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure operational processes are optimized for traceability, testing, and compliance for power OEM standards.
QUALIFCATIONS:
- 7-10+ years in operations leadership within a manufacturing environment
- Background in power distribution, power OEM, electrical products, or industrial equipment is highly preferred
- Proven success in an engineered-to-order (ETO), low-volume/high-mix production environment
- Execution-focused: Ability to build operations from the ground up and deliver results on an accelerated timeline.
- Builder mindset: Not just an operator but a creator of systems, processes, and teams.
- Strategic & hands-on: Ability to design high-level strategy while being deeply engaged in execution.
- Coaching leader: Develops and mentors teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement expertise (preferred).
- Data-driven decision-maker with strong financial and operational acumen
