Role:
The Manager / Senior Manager of Supply Chain leads master scheduling, materials planning, and procurement for a fully in-house manufacturing operation. This role will serve as the primary buyer for the organization, owning vendor sourcing, negotiations, contracts, and delivery timelines while ensuring uninterrupted production, cost control, and regulatory compliance.
Operating at both a strategic and executional level, this role partners closely with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Finance, and Marketing to align supply plans with demand forecasts, support new product launches, and scale operations in a high-growth, regulated environment.
This position will be on-site at our new Mesa, AZ facility.
Responsibilities:
Supply Planning & Master Scheduling
- Own and continuously optimize the master production schedule, balancing forecasted demand, manufacturing capacity, and material availability.
- Translate demand forecasts into actionable material and capacity plans.
- Anticipate supply constraints and proactively develop mitigation and contingency plans.
- Support scale-up planning for new product introductions, promotions, and international expansion.
Procurement & Buying Leadership
- Serve as the primary purchaser for raw materials, packaging, and key services.
- Execute and manage purchase orders, lead times, and supplier commitments.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, MOQs, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Partner with Finance to manage spend, budgets, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain purchasing accuracy and discipline within ERP systems.
Vendor Strategy & Management
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new domestic and international suppliers.
- Own supplier performance management across cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Lead supplier reviews, corrective actions, and contract renewals.
- Develop dual-sourcing and risk mitigation strategies for critical materials.
- Build strong supplier partnerships while maintaining commercial leverage.
Inventory & Cost Optimization
- Optimize inventory levels to support service levels while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Monitor turns, safety stock, and lead times to improve working capital efficiency.
- Support cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliation.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing, specification optimization, and supplier consolidation.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Act as a key supply chain partner to Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Marketing.
- Support new product development by aligning sourcing, timing, and compliance requirements.
- Communicate clearly and proactively regarding risks, delays, and recovery plans.
- Influence decision-making across operations without direct authority over all functions.
- Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Own data integrity and planning accuracy within ERP systems.
- Develop dashboards and reporting for inventory health, supplier performance, and service levels.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across planning and procurement processes.
- Support system implementations and process standardization as the business scales.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
- 7–10+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, and procurement within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience as a hands-on buyer with direct negotiation responsibility. Must have Packaging experience.
- Experience in cosmetics, cosmeceuticals, pharmaceuticals, food/beverage, or other regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and demand planning tools.
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes.
