Department Overview
Global Vehicle Logistics & Customs at MBUSA is comprised of four areas. Each area has a critical role in the process of getting vehicles from the factories to our dealers. For a brief overview please view the Distribution Story below!
Logistics supports the importation of vehicles from the factories into the United States, and transportation from the VPCs and Marshalling Yard to our dealers.
Vehicle Inventory supports our dealer network with inventory allocation, locating vehicles, assisting in the specification of dealer/customer orders and ensuring a steady flow of vehicles from our preparation centers to the dealers.
Vehicle Operations is comprised of the Vehicle Preparation Centers (VPCs) and Vehicle Marshaling Yard (VMY) which are the first points of rest in the US for vehicles bound to dealers. They ensure that vehicles are up to quality standards and they can perform accessory installations.
Customs Operations & Compliance supervises all facets of the importation and exportation of MBUSA's products, working with US Customs and OGAs on all MBUSA customs compliance and government programs.

Job Overview
The goal of this summer internship is to provide students with meaningful professional experience through a corporate role at MBUSA. This paid 8.5 week program offers insight into how different business units operate and gives interns the opportunity to contribute to real projects that support our day-to-day operations.
You will be working with the Vehicle Ordering & Inventory Management team to understand our business and determine the most effective way to organize the structure and reporting for all new vehicle orders and inventory. This includes improving how information is captured, presented, and accessed for day to day operations.
Your responsibilities will also involve conducting analyses on vehicle movement and aged inventory, identifying opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and evaluating whether certain workflows should be automated to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and document existing processes and systems to identify inefficiencies, leveraging tools such as Excel and Power BI and pulling data from internal systems like SAP to generate actionable insights, and develop clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management
- Conduct ad hoc analyses focused on identifying cost reduction opportunities and supporting data driven decision making across operations
- Identify and recommend AI-driven solutions to automate existing reporting processes, collaborating cross-functionally with the IT department to implement these improvements
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analytical support to the Ordering & Inventory Management teams on vehicle movement
- Monitor aging inventory and assist with escalating units as needed to maintain efficient flow throughout the supply chain
Qualifikationen
Qualifications / Education:
To qualify for this internship opportunity, you must be a rising junior or rising senior enrolled in a Bachelor's program.

Desired Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate processes, identify inefficiencies, and generate actionable insights
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and core analytical formulas for data‑driven reporting
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau to build dashboards and communicate inventory trends
- Ability to create clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and business cases to upper management
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools, including Microsoft Power Automate, to streamline manual reporting processes
- Working knowledge of AI concepts and prompt engineering to support AI‑driven reporting and process automation initiatives
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities to balance ad‑hoc analyses, recurring reporting, and long‑term improvement projects
Additional Information
During this 8.5-week summer internship, you will be required to work onsite 4 days a week at our Sandy Springs, GA headquarters.
