The Director of Transportation plays a pivotal role in Coca-Cola’s North America Operating Unit (NAOU), leading a team responsible for end-to-end transportation strategy, sourcing, and execution. Accountable for a $1B annual transportation budget, this role manages one of three region teams responsible for a total of 600,000 shipments per year from 180+ origins across the U.S. and Canada, partnering with 80+ carriers to ensure reliable, cost-effective product movement.
Key responsibilities include optimizing short- and long-term capacity planning, driving carrier selection and performance, overseeing contract awards and forecasting, and ensuring adherence to service, cost, and compliance KPIs. The Director of Transportation combines strategic planning with leadership of daily operational oversight to deliver seamless transportation performance that supports Coca-Cola’s customer commitments and business growth.
What You Will Do For Us
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all transportation modes in NAOU, managing 500–1,000 shipments daily from manufacturing and distribution sites to customers and intra-company locations.
- Oversee carrier sourcing, contracting, and performance, including the annual bid process, award decisions, and development of the annual transportation budget (≈$1B).
- Lead and coach teams in executing transportation planning, process compliance, escalation management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure service and cost objectives are met.
- Direct carrier relationship management through KPI oversight, quarterly reviews, and performance improvement plans to ensure service excellence.
- Drive productivity initiatives, market benchmarking, and data-driven analysis to identify and implement operational and financial improvements.
- Partner with supply chain, finance, and global logistics teams to align capacity planning, procurement strategies, and business priorities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred) or related field of experience of 5+ years of related experience or more
- 5+ years relevant work experience in Supply Chain/Operations or Transportation Management
- Strong leadership, collaboration skills and project management experience
- Strategic mindset with the ability to execute tactically in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to make decisions independently and to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situations
- Adept at helping team members identify opportunities to develop new strengths and capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; clear, effective communication with internal and external stakeholders

Pay Range:$137,000 - $164,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
