We’re hiring a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of mechanical systems across multiple bus-related product lines. This role sits in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment and supports products from early concept through production launch.

What You’ll Do
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components to meet customer and technical requirements
- Make design decisions impacting performance, cost, and manufacturability
- Support projects from concept, prototyping, testing, and production launch
- Participate in DFMEA, APQP/NPD stage gate activities, and design reviews
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Supply Chain on DFM/DFA initiatives
- Create and review detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities
- Analyze test results to improve performance and reliability
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA / 8D) and corrective action implementation
- Support Sales and Field Service with technical troubleshooting
- Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement, and potential patent activity
- Maintain clear documentation and cross-functional communication
- Occasional travel (up to 10%)
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred; ABET-accredited)
- 6+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical system design and manufacturing principles
- Experience with APQP/NPD, DFMEA, RCA/8D, DFM/DFA, and engineering analysis
- Background in transportation or vehicle-based mechanical systems preferred
- Familiarity with Poka-Yoke, PPAP, VAVE, Lean Six Sigma, and GD&T
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD tools)
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
- Basic project leadership experience on small to mid-size engineering efforts
