Position: Sr Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Manufacturing | Assembly | Testing (NOT R&D / Design)

I am looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing, assembly, and testing operations at a regulated production facility. This role is strictly manufacturing-focused and does not support R&D, product design, or early-stage development. The successful leader will drive advanced manufacturing initiatives, cost transformation, automation, and operational excellence in a high-reliability, regulated environment.
This position sits on the site leadership team and oversees both Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering organizations.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering functions supporting production
- Drive advanced manufacturing initiatives, including automation, throughput improvements, and cost reduction
- Own engineering support for assembly and test operations in a regulated environment
- Serve as a change agent, influencing peers and cross-functional leaders
- Will directly manage a team of 5 to include Manufacturing Engineering Supervisors and a Test Engineering Manager
- Will indirectly lead ~80 Manufacturing & Test Technicians
- Support production across two shifts (primarily 1st shift; limited 2nd shift oversight)
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Site Leadership to meet production goals
- Support occasional collaboration with a secondary U.S. manufacturing site (minimal travel)
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree at minimum, preferably a Master’s degree along
- 7-10+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering within production environments
- Hands-on leadership in assembly and test operations
- Proven success driving advanced manufacturing, automation, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Background in regulated manufacturing required:
- Medical devices preferred and Automotive, aerospace, or similar regulated industries considered
- Experience leading large technical teams in high-reliability manufacturing
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at a peer leadership level
- SMT experience preferred but not required
- This role does NOT focus on R&D, product design, or early-stage development
