You, our Industrial Designer, are a passionate, creative, and meticulous designer who is eager to work in an interdisciplinary team designing, engineering, and manufacturing high end, luxury furniture and lighting in our Philadelphia Studios. Under the direction of the Senior Industrial Designer, the Industrial Designer participates in the concept development, design, and refinement of new collections. This role is responsible for supporting the design of new product collections to the highest level of implementation, with highly editable 3D models and corresponding drawings, CAM for new parts, configurable BOMs, customization SOPs, and any additional documentation needed for a seamless implementation, i.e. Production SOPs, training materials, QRGs. Collaborating with the Engineering and Production teams, the Industrial Designer also supports the Senior Industrial designer and Senior Design Engineer on highly custom production orders, ensuring to PM the project through completion in the shop.

Job Responsibilities:
- Support all Product Development and Engineering Team initiatives and tasks as directed by Sr. Industrial Designer
- Under direction of Sr. Industrial Designer, conceptualize, design, and refine product collections that fit into the brand’s visual language
- Support the implementation of new product collections into production by creating high level 3D models, drawings, customization SOPs, BOMs, and Routers
- Collaborate with Engineering Team and CNC Workgroup to create new CAM programs for parts and continuously refine programs of existing parts
- Create production training documents, SOPs, QRGs, and additional documentation to support production team in implementation of new products
- Design custom tooling, fixturing, and jigs for the implementation of new products
- Design, engineer, and project manage custom projects, ensuring that the required QC inspections are carried out throughout the production process
- Proactively identify and resolve challenges to limit impact to production flow
- Support and collaborate with Engineering Department led Continuous Improvement and 5S Initiatives as directed
Required Experience/Skills
- BS in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or another related field required
- 5+ years experience in design or engineering role in high end furniture and lighting
- Passion for high end design and manufacturing
- Excellent Solidworks skills, especially in 3D surfacing, drawing notation, and configurable assemblies
- Knowledge of manual machining, CNC machining, and CAM principles. Experience in Fusion 360, MasterCAM, SolidCAM a plus
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication, glass working, and general manufacturing techniques
- Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills
- Strong team building, people management, and decision-making skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical details to nontechnical stakeholders
- Excellent physical and digital organizational skills
- High level of time management and ability to work on several projects simultaneously
