Our client, a prestigious luxury leather goods brand, is seeking an experienced US Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize all logistics operations within the United States. This role is critical to the successful launch and ongoing performance of the brand’s new US distribution center in New Jersey and will ensure best-in-class logistics execution in line with luxury standards for quality, service, and precision.
Based in NJ, the US Logistics Manager will hold full responsibility for US logistics operations, including oversight of the third-party logistics (3PL) partner operating the distribution center, management of transportation and logistics providers, and end-to-end inbound and outbound logistics flows. The role requires close coordination with internal stakeholders and international counterparts in France to ensure seamless execution across all channels, including retail and e-commerce.
Key Responsibilities
1. 3PL Oversight & Performance Management
- Oversee the operational performance of the 3PL managing the US distribution center, ensuring strict adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Review and analyze performance reports, identifying inefficiencies and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular business reviews with the 3PL and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage the 3PL contract, including renewals, negotiations, and amendments.
- Ensure the 3PL complies with all regulatory, safety, security, and environmental standards.
2. Logistics Provider Management
- Manage relationships with all US-based logistics service providers, including transportation companies and customs brokers.
- Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and resolve service issues.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative partnerships with key provider stakeholders.
3. US Logistics Operations
- Manage all inbound and outbound logistics flows for the US market, including:
- Customs clearance of goods arriving from France
- Transportation from ports and airports to the distribution center
- Distribution from the DC to retail stores nationwide
- Returns and reverse logistics processes
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust logistics processes aligned with luxury service standards.
- Ensure compliance with US customs, transportation, and safety regulations.
- Oversee inventory accuracy and integrity in collaboration with the 3PL and internal teams.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
4. Transportation Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive transportation strategy for the US market.
- Select, manage, and evaluate carriers and transportation partners.
- Negotiate transportation rates and contracts.
- Optimize routing, scheduling, and shipment consolidation to reduce costs and transit times.
- Monitor shipment tracking and ensure on-time, secure delivery.
- Manage transportation budgets and ensure regulatory compliance.
5. E-commerce Logistics
- Oversee logistics execution for e-commerce operations, including order fulfillment, shipping, and returns, in partnership with the 3PL.
- Optimize e-commerce logistics processes to meet luxury customer expectations for speed, accuracy, and presentation.
- Ensure e-commerce logistics are fully integrated into the broader US logistics strategy.
6. Reporting, Analysis & Risk Management
- Prepare and present regular logistics performance reports, including transportation KPIs and 3PL metrics.
- Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Proactively identify and mitigate logistics risks that may impact service, cost, or brand integrity.

Professional Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of US customs regulations and import/export processes.
- Expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Proven experience managing 3PL providers in a distribution center environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience with e-commerce logistics strongly preferred.

Salary: $100k-$125k + bonus
