SRS Enterprises is a long-established HVAC Manufacturers Representative with offices in Middletown, NJ and New York, NY. We are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to lead estimating, pricing, and preconstruction coordination for local New Jersey and NYC-area commercial projects.
This is a hands-on, office-based role in Middletown, NJ. The ideal candidate lives within a reasonable daily commuting distance and is familiar with the local contracting, engineering, and construction community. This position is not remote or hybrid.
The Project Manager will serve as the technical and organizational lead from bid through project award, working closely with sales engineers, manufacturers, contractors, and consulting engineers to ensure accurate, competitive, and technically sound proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HVAC estimating and preconstruction efforts for local commercial and institutional projects
- Prepare and oversee detailed HVAC cost estimates, equipment selections, and system evaluations
- Review construction documents including drawings, specifications, addenda, and schedules
- Coordinate directly with local mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and internal sales teams
- Develop pricing strategies aligned with project scope, specifications, and regional market conditions
- Provide value engineering options, alternates, and technical clarifications during the bid process
- Review and validate estimates prepared by junior estimators or engineers
- Track bid calendars, revisions, and submissions to meet strict deadlines
- Maintain organized project files, selections, and supporting documentation
- Serve as a technical resource throughout preconstruction and early project phases
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Strong technical background in commercial HVAC systems and equipment
- Proven experience in HVAC estimating, project management, or preconstruction
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and specifications
- Working knowledge of HVAC equipment selection, system design, and performance criteria
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating tools; familiarity with manufacturer selection software preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active bids
- Clear, professional communication skills for daily interaction with local industry partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with an HVAC manufacturer or manufacturers representative
- Familiarity with New Jersey and NYC-area commercial HVAC projects
- Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and applicable mechanical codes
- Prior leadership, mentoring, or team coordination experience
- Existing relationships with local contractors or consulting engineers (strong plus)
