Job Description:
- Conduct competitive teardowns of physical products (e.g., consumer electronics, industrial components, electromechanical systems).
- Disassemble, analyze, and reverse engineer products to understand: Design choices, Materials, Manufacturing processes, Performance and cost drivers
- Purchase and benchmark multiple competing products to build comparative insights.
- Develop component-level cost models, estimating: Should-costs, Manufacturing and assembly costs, Material and supplier cost drivers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field) is required.
- 1+ years of related work experience is required.
- Demonstrated curiosity and comfort with hands-on engineering work (teardowns, prototyping, testing, analysis).
- Ability to break down complex physical systems into clear, structured insights.
- Strong communication skills—able to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
