J.R. Boehlke, Inc. is an asphalt, concrete, landscape, and snow contractor founded in 1996. After nearly three decades of providing asphalt maintenance services to our existing commercial and residential clients, we are starting a paving and grading crew in 2025.

We are seeking a Foreman to lead daily activities of a new paving crew that will focus on residential and commercial paving projects. This crew will also be responsible for removal and grading activities prior to paving. The right individual for the role will be high-energy, organized, and dependable, have a demonstrated history of effectively leading and managing paving crews, and enjoy working in a growing company.

Prior experience leading an asphalt paving crew is required.

Job Responsibilities

The Foreman will be responsible for:

Crew Leadership: Lead and supervise a crew of 3-6 team members, ensuring clear communication and team motivation.
Project Execution: Plan and oversee all aspects of asphalt paving operations, including removal, site prep, grading, paving, and rolling.
Equipment Operation: Operate and supervise the use of paving equipment, including pavers, rollers, and skid steers. Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of all machinery.
Quality Control: Monitor work progress to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations.
Material Management: Coordinate material deliveries, calculate material needs, and ensure efficient use to minimize waste.
Problem Solving: Address issues on-site, making real-time adjustments to ensure project goals are met.
Reporting: Track and document daily job progress, material usage, and crew performance. Communicate regularly with project management staff.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in asphalt paving, including at least 2 years leading projects as foreman.
High attention to detail and quality.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train crew members.
Ability to operate and maintain equipment.
Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with clean driving record (CDL preferred)
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
