EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Positions in this class of work perform professional work in planning, organizing, managing, implementing and evaluating projects according to project management principles and methods. Projects managed by positions in this class are complex and require one to navigate through various issues and project constraints by applying general policies and guidelines. Projects are of a lesser scope and complexity in comparison to those managed by a Project Manager II.The work of this class involves defining project goals to determine required project outcomes; analyzing and creating detailed project plans that identify deliverables, timelines, costs, resources and potential risk; regularly communicating with project staff, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders on project activities; monitoring project progress to ensure milestones are met on time; developing and implementing mechanisms to evaluate project successes and areas in need of improvement on an on-going basis; and recommending and facilitating changes to project processes to ensure desired outcomes and deliverables..
