The Concrete Project Manager is responsible for fundamental project management tasks related to concrete including securing and managing project cost, schedule, and performance in conformance with company policy, standards, objectives, and goals. This position will also ensure that project deadlines are met in a timely manner and will be committed to deliver quality work above and beyond specifications and expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generates, reviews, and approves estimates, contracts, change orders, work orders, etc.
- Responsible for overall project management on all projects, profit/loss, and successful completion from bid to closeout.
- Investigates potential serious situations and implements corrective measures.
- Creates, reviews, and maintains project schedules.
- Prepares project documents including progress reports, project schedule updates, and financial/budget updates.
- Works with project managers, superintendents, and/or foremen to plan, organize, and direct activities associated with projects.
- Confers with project managers and superintendents to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints, and concrete problems.
- Initiates periodic meetings and other forms of communication with project team members and customers to inform them with unresolved problems and provide solutions.
- Monitors project progress for adherence to schedule and man hour expenditures versus percent complete.
- Familiar with RFI’s, RFP’s, and CO’s that affect the original contract work and verify subcontractors are in compliance.
- Drafts all contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
- Monitors project scope for changes affecting budget and schedule; identifies cause, advise customer, and negotiate change in fee.
- Ensures all daily issues are being addressed and is responsible for ensuring smooth transitions to clients.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree in construction management or related engineering field preferred.
- 2+ years of concrete, construction and/or project management required.
- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Certified preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suites - Word, Excel and MAC Suites required.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, or Adobe Acrobat preferred.
- Proficiency in Project Management Accounting Software preferred.
