Position Summary
The Construction Project Manager oversees all phases of solar construction projects from development through final commissioning. This role is responsible for managing client relationships, maintaining compliance with documentation and regulatory requirements, and ensuring each project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company safety and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Financial Oversight
- Maintain complete control of project schedule and budget from initial development to permission to operate (PTO).
- Manage all financial documentation, including cost forecasting, owner billing, subcontractor billing, invoice reviews, and change-order tracking with supporting documentation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and manage all communication and expectations.
- Conduct weekly client updates addressing schedule changes, financial status, safety, quality, and project risks.
Compliance, Permitting & Documentation
- Review relevant codes and regulations to ensure full legal and regulatory compliance.
- Identify, obtain, and track all permits, licenses, and required approvals.
- Prepare bid scopes, negotiate material and service contracts, and maintain accurate cost tracking throughout construction.
- Ensure precise digital recordkeeping, including submittals, RFIs, design updates, change orders, and billing.
- Oversee document completion and proper closeout deliverables.
Project Execution & Schedule Management
- Manage one or more projects concurrently while driving schedules to meet or exceed deadlines.
- Maintain consistent project tracking to verify that all solar construction deliverables are met.
- Coordinate closely with the Superintendent to manage subcontractor activities and enforce contract compliance.
- Train, mentor, and support Superintendent staff.
- Monitor project productivity, costs, and schedule progress, and report trends to senior leadership.
- Implement corrective actions or schedule recovery plans when project goals are at risk.
- Lead construction completion walkdowns and ensure timely punch-list resolution.
Procurement, Quality & Safety
- Manage procurement of major materials and verify compliance with project specifications.
- Conduct weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors.
- Ensure adherence to OSHA requirements, quality standards, and company environmental and ethical guidelines.
- Oversee load banking, commissioning support, permission-to-operate processes, and final site punch lists.
- Serve as the on-site Safety Representative when needed in the Superintendent’s absence.
- Coordinate with safety and QA/QC representatives to maintain high performance standards.
- Manage third-party inspections, manufacturer technician coordination, and engineering deliverables.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase project efficiency.
- Support cross-functional activities where skills can be shared to benefit overall operations.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
- Stay current on industry practices, regulations, and emerging technologies and apply new knowledge to ongoing work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Professional project management certifications (PMP, PgMP, CAPM, etc.) strongly preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
