Inventory Control Specialist (Hybrid)

Kansas City, Missouri (Overland Park, KS)

Position Purpose: The Inventory Control Specialist serves as a primary business contact for the client and is responsible for client satisfaction for all purchasing needs, as it relates to inventory for Print and Promotional products. The Specialist is expected to consistently provide excellent client service to assigned accounts, as well as represent client needs and goals within the organization. Customer base varies across several industries such as restaurants, hospitality and commercial companies utilizing our fulfillment and print/promo needs. The Inventory Control Specialist interfaces directly with our clients via meetings, phone and/or email. This position interacts internally with Operational Excellence, IT, Finance and Warehouse departments.

Job Duties & Accountabilities

• Responsible for on-going proactive purchasing and client support, including daily client interaction, and weekly meeting participation

• Tactical procurement activities such as project estimating print and promotional products, specification development, and supplier selection

• Advocate for the client by providing proactive and creative ideas and innovative solutions

• Communicate new items, rollouts and/or changes to your internal and external customers in timely and thorough manner

• Inputs data, places orders, and follows up to ensure deadlines and expectations are met

• Maintain and build a positive working relationship within a cross functional, collaborative team environment

• Be proficient with internal systems related to the order entry process and e-commerce sites

• Resolve incorrect orders and handle complaints and discrepancies from external and internal clients by providing appropriate solutions and alternatives

• Manage client owned or employer owned inventory by reviewing weekly reports and communicate with client to keep inventory up-to-date

• Client focused approached with strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills

• Be knowledgeable of updated material so customers can get prompt and correct answers and information about products and shipments

• Ensure quality of customer’s experience based on respect, thoroughness, promptness, and accuracy

• Demonstrate and promote high standards for quality and productivity

Education and Experience:

5+ years print/promo industry experience
5+ years with sourcing
3+ years with inventory (300+ skus)
Strong Microsoft Excel experience

Job Requirements

• Displays excellent time management and organizational skills

• Possesses excellent communication skills

• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of new programs quickly

• Prioritizes projects and remains flexible to meet changing project needs
