The Quality Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain quality assurance and control frameworks, including processes, policies, and standards.
- Monitor production and development activities to ensure adherence to established quality specifications and standards.
- Conduct inspections, tests, and audits (internal and supplier) throughout various stages of production and product development.
- Identify and resolve quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data (e.g., defects, nonconformities, process capability, metrics) to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Review engineering designs and specifications to integrate quality, inspectability, and manufacturability into new products.
- Create and maintain documentation, including test protocols, inspection reports, procedure manuals, quality plans, and risk assessments.
- Provide training and guidance to production, development, and supplier teams on quality tools, standards, and procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and process optimization.
The ideal Quality Engineer candidate will have the following skillset:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent experience in a related technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality tools, including SPC, FMEA, process capability studies, root cause analysis, and data interpretation.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience with audit processes (internal, supplier, and regulatory).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the capability to clearly document issues and present findings.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
