We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and field-driven Superintendent to oversee day-to-day on-site construction operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial or high-rise construction and the ability to manage field crews, enforce quality and safety, and drive progress in alignment with project schedules.
Job Summary:
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily field operations of assigned construction projects, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to coordinate trades, maintain production schedules, and serve as the on-site representative of Civic Construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all on-site construction activities, including scheduling, coordination, and supervision of subcontractors and labor
- Maintain daily logs and site reports documenting manpower, work progress, delays, and weather conditions
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, ensuring alignment with overall project goals and timelines
- Enforce job site safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
- Conduct site walkthroughs to ensure quality control and adherence to plans/specifications
- Lead daily morning meetings and weekly trade coordination meetings
- Assist with site layout, logistics planning, and sequencing of work
- Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and equipment usage as needed
- Support problem-solving and field adjustments in collaboration with the PM and design team
- Represent Civic Construction professionally on-site with clients, consultants, and vendors
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on commercial or multifamily construction projects
- In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage crews and subcontractors effectively
- Proficient in reading construction documents, plans, and specifications
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and related field management tools
- Ability to maintain schedules and drive performance on fast-paced projects
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
