This is an opportunity for an experienced and highly qualified Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join a national luxury real estate brand. The CIO will be accountable for defining and delivering IT strategies and capabilities across the enterprise. We are looking for innovation in the development of new products, applications and software to continue our client's leading role in the industry. The CIO will be a key contributor in company strategy and planning process and will be responsible for technology and digital innovation and IT operations. It is critical for the CIO to build strong relationships and partner with business unit leaders. Excellent communication skills are needed in the role. The CIO will manage 3 direct reports on the IT leadership team with a total headcount of 23. The CIO will lead a major business (digital & technological) transformation initiative and play a highly visible leadership role that will intersect with every part of this business. The company has strategic locations in key markets throughout the country, including New York City, The Hamptons, Miami and Palm Beach, Florida, Connecticut, and New Jersey. The name is synonymous with excellence in real estate, representing the world’s most prestigious properties. The company has built some of the most comprehensive property technology systems in the industry. They have 2,500 real estate agents and 500 employees in the markets they serve.
Role and Responsibilities
Strategy
- Proactively advise and collaborate with the senior management team to formulate the company’s business and digital strategies.
- Proactively advise senior management on emerging technologies and digital trends that are most relevant to company goals and evolving needs.
- Help determine capital investment parameters, priorities and risks for company-wide IT initiatives to maximize the return on investment.
Leadership
- Develop an IT vision, strategy and a roadmap and lead the IT team and its business partners in effective execution.
- Ensure that planned technical architecture, solutions and investments are aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare and monitor operational IT budgets that meet prevailing objectives and constraints.
- Develop a detailed understanding of business issues, challenges and opportunities.
- Ensure transparency and collaboration between IT and business partners.
- Devise a roadmap to maximize digital assets and leverage to put company in a stronger position
Operations
- Direct the design, planning, implementation and maintenance of the computing infrastructure that supports the company’s operations and business applications.
- Establish metrics for managing IT effectiveness.
- Establish appropriate service levels and the processes to ensure key performance indicators are met.
- Maintain oversight of all IT projects, ensuring that commitments are properly planned, staffed, monitored and reported.
- Advance technology so that they have an innovative consumer facing website that is interactive and fast.
- Work closely with CMO on SEO and AEO.
- Integrate listings system with consumer facing website.
Team Development
- Hire, develop, evaluate, reward and retain a highly qualified team of IT professionals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, transparency and accountability in IT.
- Ensure that the organization has the ability to execute business critical projects.
- Develop and maintain a plan for succession and continuity in the most critical IT management roles.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- 10 Years of career experience in technology, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in a CIO or equivalent role is required. Experience in real estate is preferred.
- Ability to create clear strategic vision for technology that supports business objectives and can executive that vision.
- Ability to work collaboratively with business leaders and build consensus around key initiatives.
- Working knowledge of the most current technologies and technological trends is required.
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Possess solid knowledge in emerging technologies and the ability to apply these in the service of the company’s key business goals.
- Customer service oriented.
- Experience leading major change initiatives, and demonstrated skills in management.
- Analytical problem solver, comfortable with ambiguity and can handle the unexpected with flexibility.
- Understanding of budgets and business planning and ability to deliver new technologies on budget and on time.
- Outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science or a related field is required, an advanced degree in computer science, engineering and/or business is preferred.
Compensation
$250,000 - $300,000 plus bonus and benefits
