Overview
We are the North American partner of BASWA acoustic, offering innovative, sustainable seamless acoustical plaster systems and support services to the architectural, engineering, and construction industries. We are seeking a Technical Advisor / Trainer with Drywall Finishing/Foreman experience to join our contractor support team. Pay above union scale.
This role is responsible for acting as a traveling, on-site and remote technical consultant to union and non-union contractors throughout North America to advise them on proper constructability of BASWA systems; including substrate/pre-install, installation, and repair considerations. This role is responsible for the proper on-site training and certification of field laborers in the installation of BASWA systems.
This role travels throughout the USA, and infrequently in Canada, to active installations, remediation issues, certified installer and contractor offices, or tradeshows.
Your day-to-day:
- Regularly performing on-site Certification Training and on-site installation assistance.
- Managing technical support for installers and contractors, assisting them through installation challenges and project remediation.
- Performing pre-job detail reviews and/or on-site walk throughs to advise internal and external project teams of technical or logistical concerns.
- Scheduling and maintaining Technician travel calendar throughout North America as needed while prioritizing your own availability.
- Maintaining technical documentation library for use by Contractors, Architects, and Engineers.
- Overseeing and maintaining up-to-date product ASTM testing.
- Managing certification and training of approved installers as well as ensuring contractor base is current with installation techniques and product innovations.
- Assist in product innovation and development efforts.
- Assisting in the creation of stock material samples.
You have:
- Experience in commercial drywall finishing or plastering.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
- Willingness and availability to travel, two-weeks at a time.
- Soft sales skills to easily communicate with general contractors, interior contractors, and installer teams.
- Ability to work independently, but have a collaborative approach to identifying solutions.
- A naturally clear communicator style, to instruct others on complex ideas and skills.
- A resourceful problem-solving style, employing the knowledge of various team-members.
- A desire to know and understand more about what you do.
- A helpful and support-based approach, finding solutions to evolving client problems.
- Innovative mind-set and are able to contribute to product development.
- A valid driver's license and passport is required for travel to various job sites.
Your education and experience includes:
- 7+ years of experience in the building commercial drywall finishing or plastering, ideally in taping or plastering.
- Leading a small team.
- English speaker, with proficiency in Spanish preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Projected Total Compensation: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
