We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing and technical operations at a high-precision aerospace production site. This facility is a key contributor within a global network specializing in complex components for commercial and military jet engines.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who excels in fast-paced, high-complexity manufacturing environments and is motivated by building strong teams, driving operational discipline, and delivering consistent performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will oversee production, engineering, maintenance, and continuous improvement while shaping the culture and capability of a 100 person site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all production and technical operations, ensuring performance in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned to site goals and long-term business objectives.
- Manage daily production activities and resource allocation to achieve schedule adherence and throughput targets.
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean and Kaizen principles to reduce waste, improve yield, and increase operational efficiency.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to resolve complex issues, support NPI projects, and optimize processes.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with AS9100, OSHA, and customer requirements.
- Establish and track KPIs across productivity, downtime, scrap, and equipment reliability; lead corrective actions as needed.
- Support capital investment planning and technology upgrades that improve competitiveness.
- Develop and mentor supervisors, engineers, and team leads to strengthen leadership depth and technical capability.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and equipment uptime to sustain required production output.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field.
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in aerospace manufacturing or precision machining.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading teams in a production environment.
- Ability to work under ITAR/EAR restrictions; U.S. work authorization required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing small-to-mid-scale aerospace manufacturing sites.
- Strong knowledge of machining, metal fabrication, or special processes for airfoils or rotating components.
- Proven Lean manufacturing experience (5S, standard work, VSM, Kaizen).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with a strategic mindset.
- Demonstrated success building teams, developing talent, and improving operational performance.
- Effective communicator with strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis.
