Position Title: Vice President of Clinic Operations
Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville, Wisconsin
Role & Department: Vice President of Clinic Operations - Administration Department
Hours & Shift: Full-time (1.0 FTE) executive level exempt position
Role Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements long range strategic and operational plans to ensure that the Clinic’s programs and related operational objectives are being achieved and are aligned with the overall UHH Strategic Plan
- Clearly articulates and communicates the vision, mission, and values of UHH in all communications
- Maintains an environment of open communication with managers and staff
- Ensures that the flow of information from the Senior Leadership Team through staff is accomplished in an effective and efficient manner
- As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, champions an interdisciplinary approach to leadership by building partnerships with other organizational leaders, including physician leaders
- Informs UHH Senior Leadership and Board of Trustees about current trends, problems, and activities in the medical/clinic field to facilitate policy making
- Consults with UHH physicians and administration prior to recommending and establishing new policies to ensure the availability of support and resources
- Prepares, implements and monitors the operating and capital budgeting process for the Clinic
- Participates in the planning for the recruitment and selection of clinic staff
- Continuously monitors all factors (e.g. staffing, materials, facilities, etc.) affecting the cost of the operation of the clinics
- Takes the necessary corrective action to keep cost commensurate with the Clinic's objectives or recommends appropriate action
- Accountable for clinic security
- Provides the leadership and direction for the patient care management delivery team to establish patient care vision, mission, values, priorities, policies, procedures, resource allocation and service delivery objectives
- Ensures that the Clinic’s patient care delivery system is comprehensive and comprised of "best practices”
- Responsible for the efficient and effective utilization of resources within Clinic Division of UHH
- Assures the measurement, assessment and continuous improvement of the services offered to the patients being served by UHH Clinic
- Assures that the financial, productivity and quality objectives of the Clinic’s strategic plans are being met and that the objectives and results are documented and reported to the appropriate individuals and groups, both internally and externally
- Collaboratively develops success indicators in the area of clinical, financial, productivity, functional, patient satisfaction, and employee satisfaction and measures performance against the success factors
- Ensures that the Clinic’s nursing practices and policies meet national and local standards
- Oversees the direct management of the patient care process and ensures that the right level of staffing, the right skill mix of staff, and the right number of staff are available to meet the needs of the patients
- Ensures that the Clinic’s patient care staff receives appropriate training to competently perform their job
- Works to establish an environment that promotes teamwork within and across the organization
- Identifies individual or team developmental opportunities and encourages individual or team effectiveness
- Ensures that the methodology and quality of services provided is consistent across all patient populations
- Recognizes the unique nature of all patient care experiences for the patient and the families who support them
- Provides assistance in establishing Clinic philosophy and objectives related to staffing and performance standards, policies and procedures, job classifications and compliance with government regulations
- Resolves medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high-levels of employee morale and a professional atmosphere
- Maintains a sufficient flow of work throughout the Clinic by evaluating production and revising procedures accordingly
- Prepares, implements and monitors the operating and capital budgeting process within the Clinic operations
- Meets or exceeds budget expectations
- Assures compliance with all patient care services-related regulatory standards and systems, locally and nationally
- Regularly presents to the Board of Directors regarding Clinic service initiatives, quality indicators, matters related to UHH and as directed by the CEO
- Provides leadership and direction for UHH’s Disaster Emergency Preparedness Program related to the clinic operations, including programming and planning for disaster response, evacuation and incident command related to the clinics
- Represents UHH at community meetings, third party payers, hospitals/clinics, other health care delivery systems, professional affiliations, etc. as needed
- Provides leadership in assessing the healthcare needs of the community and implements programs that are responsive to those needs
- Completes other assignments as designated by the Chief Executive Officer
- Provide oversight for regulatory guidelines
- Responsible to ensure efficient and economical utilization of resources
- Works cooperatively with and/or provides effective leadership to the medical staff
- Understand financial and operational aspects of a healthcare organization
- Analyze business problems and general alternative solutions
- Interact professionally with a wide variety of people dealing effectively with both pleasant and unpleasant situations
- Deal effectively with time pressures and stress
- Must have exceptional interpersonal, verbal communication and public speaking skills
Qualifications:

BS/BA or equivalent in Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing or other related professional programs required. Master’s Degree or equivalent highly desired

Five to seven or more years of senior-level clinic or related health care environment management experience required

Prior working experiences in outpatient clinic operations is required

Previous experience with leadership of hospital owned and operated clinics

Rural Healthcare Executive Leadership experience is beneficial and preferred
- Previous experience with the Microsoft Office Suite software programs is beneficial
