JOIN THE DevNW TEAM AS OUR NEW Wildfire Program Coordinator in a 3-Year Limited Duration Role
DevNW and our CDFI partner, Community Lending Works (CLW) are fostering vibrant, inclusive communities
by prioritizing housing, asset development, wealth building, and small business development. To do this work we are deconstructing pervasive systems of oppression such as racism, classism, or sexism that maintain persistent disparities and perpetuate deep imbalances in power, opportunity, and wealth.
This is a Limited Duration, 3-year position, funded through the Oregon Housing and Community Services ReOregon Housing Support Services Program, which provides federal Community Development Block Grant–Disaster Recovery resources to households impacted by the 2020 Labor Day Wildfires and Straight-line Wind Events. DevNW is responsible for delivering Down Payment Assistance and Housing Counseling to wildfire survivors in Clackamas, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, and Marion counties. The Wildfire Program Coordinator will be a key point of contact for wildfire survivors seeking recovery resources and support.
The Wildfire Program Coordinator role’s critical contributions to this work are the following:
- Serve as the first point of contact for wildfire survivors and other clients, providing a high level of customer service and a seamless transfer to the desired person or program.
- Support wildfire survivors in navigating Down Payment Assistance and Housing Counseling program requirements, including document collection, income verification, duplication of benefits checks, and scheduling consultations.
- Provide written and verbal communication in both Spanish and English to clients; this includes familiarity with spelling, grammar and punctuation rules and usage.
- Stay current on all DevNW and CLW services and programs, including the wildfire recovery pathways, providing accurate, current, and relevant information and referrals.
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of interactions using multiple client management systems.
- Provide additional capacity across the organization that results in seamless customer experience for the communities we serve, including : data entry, scheduling appointments, assisting with class or counseling registration, mail/document collection.
It is CRITICAL that you have…
- Proven track record of efficiently managing a high volume of incoming calls and emails
- Bilingual Spanish/English skills (verbal and written)
- The ability to articulate complex information in easily understood terms, with compassion and clarity for survivors of disaster.
- Demonstrated experience in fostering effective communication and collaboration across internal teams
- Proficiency in utilizing MS Office Suite, Zoom and other teleconference technologies.
- Dedication to proactively seeking innovative ways to enhance access and reduce barriers for individuals navigating DevNW and CLW.
It is GREAT if you have…
- Experience with software applications as required for this program, such as Neighborly and CounslorMax.
- Experience with disaster recovery, housing counseling, lending, or homeownership support.
- Experience with de-escalation or trauma-informed conflict resolution
- Lived experience as a wildfire survivor, low-income individual and/or as a member of a community that has faced historical barriers to housing, asset building, or small business development, being a first-generation college graduate or other experiences.
Example tasks/responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality customer service by answering incoming calls, responding to emails and voice messages, particularly for wildfire survivors seeking recovery assistance.
- Maintain high level knowledge of DevNW’s mission and programs to assist prospective clients and partners in understanding programs and services
- Guide wildfire survivors through navigating the DevNW intake and enrolment process.
- De-escalate situations involving community members expressing concerns, experiencing a crisis, or communicating frustrations using trauma-informed care practices.
- Provide support for special projects, new and upcoming programs, or other initiatives within the organization
- Cross-train in processing client documents, completing class registrations through our website and client database, scheduling appointments with counselors and meeting administration needs for various funding sources to provide support and additional capacity when needed for our Program Support team.
- Identify issues or barriers to seamless engagement in DevNW services, particularly for disaster survivors, and suggest creative solutions
- Assist Office and Facilities Manager with support for on-site operations as needed and based on office location

Pay: $42,350.00 - $54,450.00 per year
