Assist the Head Tennis Professional. Provide lessons, clinics, and assist with all club functions. Manage and oversee senior leagues, singles ladder, junior programs, and assist with ladies league.
: Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordination, planning, and implementation and member interaction with private or group instructional programs.
- Assist with leagues, women and men’s team.
- Assist with the scheduling, planning, and coordination of special teaching programs: including camps, clinics, ladders, leagues, and children’s program.
- Maintains a positive rapport with members, co-workers, and management at all times.
- Assist with Pro Shop duties. Responsible for answering phones, counter service, court bookings, game arranging, and customer service. Must be knowledgeable of Pro Shop computer system. May be responsible for scheduled Pro Shop hours.
- Participate in complimentary clinics or programs for the membership as requested by the Head Pro.
- Responsible for hiring, assisting, and scheduling tennis maintenance staff.
- Responsible for completing performance reviews of tennis maintenance staff.
- Responsible for overseeing all areas of tennis outside including: tennis courts, pickle ball courts, irrigation for courts and all paver walkways.
- Complete daily walk through of entire outdoor tennis facility. Delegate general upkeep of tennis courts and area to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Responsible for all rackets restringing, gripping, and organizing all demos. Must maintain the stringing machine.
- Will be assigned to attend home and away matches for the ladies SPBCWTA league.
- Follow Tennis facility Disaster Recovery Procedures before and after a disaster.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements & Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Previous teaching experience in a private country club or comparable environment.
- Must be available for flexible hours, including night, pre-dawn, and weekends.
- Must be computer literate.
- RSPA Certified in Tennis (formerly known as USPTA)
- Racquet stringing knowledge required
- Pickleball and padel experience preferred
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Outgoing and positive personality
Physical Requirements: Position requires extended time out of doors. Must be able to lift, pull and push at least 30 pounds. Position requires stamina to teach extended periods of time.
