Position Description:
VPC is seeking Disaster Recovery and Grants Management Specialists for potential contracts across the U.S. These positions will provide services for a variety of areas, including grant management, disaster recovery and long-term recovery planning services, debris management, damage assessments, FEMA 404 and 406 Hazard Mitigation, grants management and financial analysis, compliance and administrative services, cash flow management, data management, and audits/report filing. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a related professional field. Additionally, the ideal candidate would support project development and implementation of various Federal and State Disaster Programs related to Presidential declared emergencies or disasters.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate would have experience in some or all of the following:
- Provide post-disaster declaration general activity support.
- Experience in at least one of the following Grant programs: FEMA Public Assistance. FEMA Individual Assistance, CDBG-DR, CDBG-MIT, FEMA 404 and 406 Hazard Mitigation
- Advise and provide subject matter expertise on FEMA Public Assistance and Individual Assistance programs regarding Federal regulations, assessing damage, supporting interim housing assistance, debris removal, meeting support, and FEMA pilot program evaluations, and managing grant applications.
- Provide FEMA 404 and 406 Hazard Mitigation Expertise to reduce or eliminate risk and damage from future disaster events.
- Provide financial/grants management support, including advising on FEMA's regulation and policy on tracking costs, tracking of project documentation, supporting the financial reimbursement process, and preparing projects for audit.
- Perform in-depth research on a variety of topics to support contract and project tasks, plans, and products.
- Provide a comprehensive QA/QC review of all final products to identify errors in language, grammar, spelling, formatting, consistency, and content accuracy.
- Assist in administrative and technical tasks and perform ad hoc assignments as needed.
- Possess leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the project, objectives, inspire and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with the project goals and deliverables.
- Assist with verbal and written communication, including explaining the project goals and objectives to different clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, preferably in a finance, planning, disaster management, grants management, accounting, or business administration field.
- Data analysis and accounting skills.
- Excellent analytical and communications (oral and written) skills.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure and with deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe PDF, and Microsoft/Google Suite products.
- High degree of attention to detail.
- Experience with strategy and technical skill sets.
- Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment with high competition for resources.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Highly empathetic and able to vary styles of interaction to match the needs of a variety of temperaments and personalities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner, with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience using CRM, SharePoint, Video Conferencing Platforms, etc.

Employment Classification:
This is a long-term contract position. Employment with VPC is at-will, the employee and VPC each have the right to terminate the relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice.
