West Side Salvage, now operating as Apex Response, is growing and looking for strong Traveling Field Operators and Laborers based in Waubay, SD to support projects across the Midwest.
When fires, floods, grain bin collapses, and other unexpected events disrupt farms and businesses, Apex Response steps in to help. The field teams perform demolition, recovery, salvage, cleanup, and other demanding work to help customers get back on their feet.
Foreman opportunities also available for those with previous labor and supervisory experience.
Whether you're a hands-on worker or an experienced field leader ready to lead a traveling crew, you'll play an important role in tackling challenging projects and helping customers recover. Salvage or disaster recovery experience isn't required.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform hands-on fieldwork, including demolition, recovery, salvage, and cleanup
- Assist with job-site setup, equipment, materials, and daily project activities
- Follow safety procedures and maintain quality and productivity standards
- Work alongside the crew to complete projects safely and efficiently
- Travel regularly to job sites across the Midwest
- Work in physically demanding environments where projects and challenges vary from site to site

What You Bring:
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work in physically demanding, fast-paced environments
- Good communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Construction, agricultural, mechanical, heavy equipment, demolition, or restoration experience is a plus
- Previous crew leadership experience for candidates pursuing leadership responsibilities
- Ability to obtain a Class A or B CDL a plus
- Willingness to travel
