Commercial Construction Foreman
KCI Construction is a growing, family-owned commercial construction company based in Fort Dodge, Iowa. We are looking for experienced Commercial Construction Foremen who want the opportunity to lead people, build quality projects, take on greater responsibility, and grow with our company.
Our projects are primarily located throughout North Central and Northwest Iowa, generally within approximately 80 miles of Fort Dodge. Our goal is to provide challenging commercial construction careers while allowing our employees to generally be home each evening.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour, based on commercial construction experience, leadership ability, and qualifications. This position is eligible for overtime in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
The Commercial Construction Foreman is a hands-on field leadership position responsible for leading KCI crews and helping safely and efficiently execute commercial construction work.
Our Foremen work closely with Superintendents and Project Managers to plan daily activities, organize manpower, coordinate materials and equipment, maintain quality and safety, and keep projects moving forward.
Responsibilities include:
Lead and work alongside field crews performing commercial construction activities.
Plan daily work, manpower, tools, materials, and equipment needed to maintain productivity.
Communicate daily goals and work expectations clearly to crew members.
Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project details.
Coordinate field activities with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager.
Work effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and other project participants.
Monitor workmanship and verify that work meets project requirements and KCI quality standards.
Promote safe work practices, proper use of PPE, and good jobsite housekeeping.
Identify upcoming material, manpower, equipment, or coordination needs before they impact production.
Recognize field conflicts and communicate issues to project leadership early.
Assist with daily reporting, timekeeping, production tracking, and project documentation as required.
Protect and properly maintain company tools, equipment, vehicles, and materials.
Help train, mentor, and develop less-experienced field employees.
Represent KCI professionally when interacting with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public.
Preferred qualifications:
Commercial construction experience.
Previous Foreman, crew-lead, or similar field-leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, tools, and materials.
Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
Ability to organize crews and plan work ahead of time.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to jobsite safety and quality workmanship.
Willingness to work alongside the crew when needed.
Ability to coach and develop other employees.
Dependability and a strong sense of personal accountability.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record for positions requiring operation of a company vehicle.
Ability to travel to regional jobsites, primarily within approximately 80 miles of Fort Dodge.
Ability to work overtime when project conditions require it.

This is a full-time, in-person construction field position. Typical work is performed Monday through Friday during daytime construction hours, although schedules and overtime may vary based on project requirements.
