Curry County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for a full-time Community Resource Officer in Gold Beach, Oregon. This sworn law-enforcement position emphasizes community outreach, trust-building, problem-solving and connecting vulnerable residents with appropriate services.

- Salary: $5,212–$6,043 per month

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a dedicated outreach officer, prioritizing engagement, education and problem-solving.
- Assist patrol deputies with situations involving unhoused individuals and help connect people with services.
- Build working relationships with community agencies, businesses and service providers.
- Coordinate issues involving illegal campsites, including notices and organized cleanups.
- Maintain accurate records of community contacts, outreach efforts and problem-solving activities.
- Use crime data and community feedback to identify trends and develop proactive public-safety strategies.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license required.
- Must pass background checks, drug screening, and psychological and physical evaluations.
- Must be able to obtain Oregon DPSST certification within one year of hire.
- Two years of experience in social work, human services or a related field is preferred. Curry County may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position includes indoor and outdoor work in varied terrain and weather. It may involve physical hazards, emotional stress, biohazards and regular interaction with people experiencing homelessness, mental illness or substance-use disorders.
