Nichols Contracting, Inc. (NCI) is a family-owned and operated Construction and Contracting business headquartered in Columbia, MD with offices in Richmond, VA, Royal Palm Beach and Orlando FL with a team of 170 employees. NCI is a full-service general contractor focused on providing premier services in all aspects of the construction process, from concept to completion. We manage a broad range of commercial construction projects, including new construction, tenant fit outs, and renovations. NCI services a diverse group of markets including federal, state, and local governments, as well as a variety of corporate and special industry organizations that require complex life safety and critical infrastructure needs.

The Project Manager will effectively manage and execute assigned projects to include effective communication with superintendents, clients, and sub-contractors to ensure projects meet designated timelines and budgets. This position will be based in our Columbia, MD office with an opportunity to telework one day a week. Duties to include but not limited to: Duties to include but not limited to:

Essential Functions:

Assists in the development of project staffing plans, assignments, and oversees job site administration
Assists in acquiring subcontractors and suppliers
Oversee subcontractors’ quality of work and coordination among all trades
Identifies and resolves all issues and changes as soon as possible
Assures that job site safety and security systems are in place and operating at all times
Assures that all materials are delivered correctly and on time using submittal and procurement procedures
Develops, monitors, and updates project schedule while overseeing the subcontractor schedules
Initiates and manages the project specific cost control system
Monitors cost reports for adherence to budgets and approve payments to subcontractors
Timely submission of all invoices
Establishes and maintains relationships with all project participants and communicates schedule revisions to all appropriate parties
Establishes and maintains all project specific information systems
Coordinates site activities with all office activities
Communicates cost control status and issues to Nichols management in a timely manner
Initiates and manages the project specific cost control system
Monitors cost reports for adherence to budgets and approve payments to subcontractors

Perform other duties as assigned

Desired Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years of construction experience and a working knowledge of Procore and P6 scheduling is required
Subcontractor Pay Voucher Preparation and Pay Application
Project CPM schedule showing all developments/updates, time impact analysis, and forecasting management
Understanding of material and equipment fabrication and its delivery tracking
Knowledge of the change management process and ability to create job status reports and profit plans
Subcontract/prime contract administration and enforcement and subcontractor buyout process
Project team leadership and negotiation skills

Salary: $100K-$120K plus performance-based bonus incentives
