Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer responsible for supporting the daily operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of the automated production line. This position ensures equipment reliability, maximizes uptime and OEE, and supports safe, efficient, and high-quality production. The engineer works will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS teams to achieve plant performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily engineering support for production lines, monitor equipment performance, assist with the line start-up/changeovers, and resolve equipment-related issues.
- Investigate equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and coordinate with maintenance teams and suppliers to reduce downtime.
- Develop and improve preventive maintenance strategies, enhance equipment reliability, analyze recurring failures, and manage critical spare parts.
- Support automation systems, optimize production efficiency (cycle time, throughput, OEE), and assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and validation activities.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives, implement error-proofing solutions, reduce waste, improve ergonomics, and enhance production processes.
- Create and maintain equipment documentation, SOPs, work instructions, maintenance procedures, drawings, BOMs, and support PFMEA/control plan activities.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Logistics, and EHS teams to support launches, customer requirements, problem-solving and supplier coordinator.
- Ensure equipment and operations meet safety standards, support risk assessments, LOTO procedures, incident investigations, and continuous safety improvements.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Professional Experience
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or automated assembly environments.
- Experience supporting automated production equipment, conveyors, sensors, pneumatic systems, and assembly machinery is strongly preferred.
- Experience with high-volume production lines preferred.
- Automotive industry experience is highly desirable.
Skills
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, conveyors, fixtures, and automation equipment.
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and basic troubleshooting.
- Understanding of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and OEE.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, and 5-Why methodologies.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, and APQP is preferred
