About the Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations for a growing organization. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in their work, and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to help wherever needed.
As a key member of a lean and collaborative team, you'll oversee receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, deliveries, and process improvement initiatives while helping maintain a safe, organized, and efficient operation. Success in this role requires strong leadership, accountability, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to doing things the right way.
We're looking for a doer; someone who can lead by example, coach others, identify opportunities for improvement, and jump on a forklift or make a delivery when necessary to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Operations Management
- Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, shipping, and deliveries.
- Ensure complete operational coverage across all warehouse functions during business hours.
- Monitor workloads, prioritize tasks, and adjust workflows based on customer demands and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment that meets or exceeds company standards.
- Assist with inbound and outbound logistics coordination to ensure timely deliveries and receipts.
Inventory Management & Accuracy
- Maintain accurate inventory records and storage locations.
- Perform weekly cycle counts and annual physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and communicate findings to management.
- Ensure 100% accuracy across all receiving, shipping, and inventory transactions.
Quality & Compliance
- Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy and proper documentation.
- Support and execute food safety and quality control initiatives.
- Maintain preventative maintenance records for forklifts and warehouse equipment.
- Ensure operational processes meet established standards and audit requirements.
Team Leadership
- Provide daily work direction to warehouse staff, third-party personnel, and peers.
- Communicate expectations clearly and help coach team members toward success.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and service levels.
- Recommend and assist in implementing process improvements.
- Support the development and adherence to new operational standards and procedures.
Communication & Reporting
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, suppliers, logistics partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide daily reporting on outbound deliveries and operational activity.
- Escalate inventory issues, receiving discrepancies, and potential service challenges proactively.
Qualifications
- Forklift certification required.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a box truck.
- Experience in warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, shipping, and distribution.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, small-team environment.
- Comfortable working in a highly hands-on leadership role.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with inventory controls, cycle counts, and warehouse best practices.
