Southern Systems International (SSI) is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex engineering, fabrication, and installation projects from contract award through final customer acceptance. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for project execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations.
The Senior Project Manager is a leader within the organization who aligns internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers toward a common goal. In addition to managing large and complex projects, this individual mentors developing project managers and contributes to the continuous improvement of SSI's project management processes.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the execution of large-scale engineering and construction projects from kickoff through closeout.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the life of the project.
· Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and execution plans.
· Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and subcontractor activities to ensure successful project delivery.
· Identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation plans.
· Manage project scope and commercial changes, including customer and subcontractor change orders.
· Monitor project financial performance, including cost tracking, forecasting, invoicing, and cash flow management.
· Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
· Support field installation activities through planning, coordination, and periodic site visits.
· Drive accountability across project teams to achieve safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives.
· Mentor and develop junior project managers and project team members.
· Lead project closeout activities, including punch list resolution, customer acceptance, lessons learned, and warranty support.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field preferred.
· Minimum 5 years of project management experience in engineering, construction, material handling, automotive, or related industrial environments.
· Demonstrated experience managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders and subcontractors.
· Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and contract administration.
· Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
· Experience reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project.
· Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience managing projects in automotive manufacturing, material handling systems, or industrial construction.
· Familiarity with AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, or similar technical software.
· Experience mentoring or supervising project managers and project coordinators.

Pay: $94,159.89 - $113,396.86 per year
