Metal Building Project Manager / Building Specialist
Hercules Sheet Metal & Metal Buildings is seeking an experienced and highly organized Metal Building Project Manager / Building Specialist to oversee metal building projects from initial concept through production and delivery.
This is a critical position within our company. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of metal building systems, can confidently read engineered plans and construction drawings, understands building components and layouts, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy matters.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of projects, communicate effectively with customers and contractors, and ensure every building is quoted, coordinated, and delivered accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Review engineered plans, blueprints, architectural drawings, and customer specifications
- Develop accurate material takeoffs for metal building projects
- Verify dimensions, framing layouts, openings, loads, and building requirements
- Coordinate directly with customers, contractors, engineers, and sales staff
- Manage projects from quote stage through production and delivery
- Identify discrepancies or design issues before production begins
- Work closely with production and fabrication teams to ensure feasibility
- Track multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strict deadlines
- Maintain organized project files and documentation
- Assist with pricing, value engineering, and cost-saving recommendations
- Provide technical support to customers and internal sales staff
- Ensure all project information is complete and accurate before release to production
Required Qualifications
- Experience in the metal building, construction, steel fabrication, or building supply industry
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineered plans, blueprints, and construction documents
- Understanding of structural layouts, framing systems, roof systems, wall systems, trim, and accessories
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication skills with customers, contractors, engineers, and team members
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMBs)
- Experience with estimating, project coordination, or construction management
- Familiarity with building codes and construction practices
- Knowledge of metal roofing and wall panel systems
- Experience working for a metal building manufacturer, supplier, or contractor
- Experience with CRM systems and project tracking software
- Familiarity with MBS (Metal Building Software) is a plus but not required

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay: Competitive salary based on experience
Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
