Description
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for infrastructure and operations including end user services,
systems engineering, networking and security, telephony, and workforce productivity.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides daily support for technology services including end user computing, network infrastructure, voice, data and productivity services.
- Supports staff in one or more locations including a remote user base through multiple communication channels.
- Installs, configures, and distributes hardware and software to support new employee onboarding in a high growth environment.
- Manages inventory, preparation and distribution.
- Maintains systems, servers, storage, backups and other related equipment or software.
- Administers systems, software, network and port configuration, firewalls, and peripherals.
- Supports and collaborates with team members, vendors and other technical staff on project efforts to achieve implementation plans and timelines.
- Reviews and monitors systems for availability, error conditions, storage, backup integrity and performance to ensure system stability.
- Creates and maintains reference documentation and contributes to desktop and network administration standards.
- Provides reports and updates to support metrics for hardware warranty, software licensing and asset management systems.
- Responsible for protecting data and information from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration or unauthorized deletion.
- Researches, evaluates and implements new technologies, processes, and upgrades to foster a continuous improvement environment.
- May require on-call availability and working during non-business hours and/or weekends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar position
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace, Windows server (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory), VPN, switches, firewalls; wireless networking, VOIP systems, security management and virtualization
- Experience implementing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including knowledge of security, storage, data protection and disaster recovery protocols
- A positive, customer centric attitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a strong aptitude for identifying problems and areas of improvement
- Flexible to evolving responsibilities and a fluid work environment
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently and take ownership of tasks, processes, and solutions
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to support scheduled upgrades, maintenance windows and production incidents.

- Familiarity with Google AI tools and features (such as Gemini, Google Workspace AI extensions, or NotebookLM) to optimize workflows, analyze data, and enhance productivity.

- This is a hybrid role requiring on-site support at the Schaumburg Innovation Center approximately 1–2 days per week, with flexibility for additional on-site days as business needs arise.

Requirements
The
expected Salary range for this position is between $70K-$85K
. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
