Position Summary
The Marshalling / Distribution Center Manager is responsible for overseeing operational performance across marshalling and distribution center locations, with a focus on quality, efficiency, asset protection, and process compliance. This role partners closely with location personnel, dealers, inspection and transportation teams to ensure SFS-required processes are followed, assets are well represented, and operational standards are consistently met while supporting the identification and management of new locations.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize a network of vehicle storage and marshalling locations, ensuring alignment with capacity, geographic coverage, cost efficiency, and security standards.
- Lead end-to-end vendor management, including sourcing, onboarding, contracting, and oversight of transportation, inspection, and storage partners.
- Drive vendor performance through SLAs, KPIs, and scorecards, ensuring achievement of cost, quality, and cycle time objectives.
- Oversee high-volume vehicle inventory across the remarketing lifecycle, ensuring accurate tracking, timely processing, and readiness for sale.
- Direct logistics planning and execution, including routing, capacity management, and load optimization to minimize dwell time and transportation costs.
- Ensure the safety, security, and regulatory compliance of vehicle assets, mitigating risk across storage, transit, and vendor operations.
- Establish and standardize operating procedures, driving consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency across all vehicle handling activities.
- Partner cross-functionally with remarketing, servicing, risk, and auction partners to align logistics execution with recovery and sales objectives.
- Monitor performance metrics and manage expenses, leveraging data to drive continuous improvement, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Qualifications and Competencies Required
- Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated experience managing multi-site or vendor-operated remarketing operations, with accountability for process compliance, operational performance, and asset quality.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a captive finance, automotive, or similar high-volume remarketing environment, with demonstrated expertise in vehicle liquidation, logistics and supply chain operations, and execution of operational strategies to drive performance, efficiency, and recovery outcomes.
- Familiarity with auto finance systems, lease management software, and financial processing tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to partner cross-functionally, manage vendor relationships, and deliver a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized and analytical, with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines; proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledgeable in captive finance and auction industry operations
Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Overtime required – as required on an as needed basis
Travel 0-50% - as required on an as needed basis.
Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to one of the following cities: Detroit, MI.
Qualifications Preferred
- Bachelor’s or four-year college degree in business or related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing a strategic vision in high-volume Remarketing venues.
- Certified Automotive Remarketer (CAR) certification.

Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 6:00 p.m., with flexible shifts and occasional weekend requirements.
