We are looking for a Logistics Specialist to join a team in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position supports the smooth coordination of customer orders from entry through delivery, helping ensure products move accurately, on schedule, and in a cost-conscious manner. The role works closely with customers, internal teams, and external partners to resolve issues quickly, communicate updates clearly, and maintain a high standard of service.
Responsibilities:
• Manage customer orders through ERP and vendor platforms, ensuring accurate entry, updates, and shipment tracking from initial receipt through final delivery.
• Investigate and resolve order exceptions such as pricing discrepancies, quantity concerns, product mismatches, and other issues that could interrupt processing.
• Partner with warehouse and operations teams to make timely decisions on delayed inventory, short-dated product, and fulfillment constraints affecting customer shipments.
• Communicate shipping delays, shortages, and order changes to customers in a clear and thorough manner while setting appropriate expectations.
• Serve as a central point of coordination between customers, brokers, sales, production, and facility teams to support on-time order movement and issue resolution.
• Anticipate customer needs and respond to questions or concerns with urgency, professionalism, and a strong service mindset.
• Prepare and distribute customer-specific reports and routine order status updates based on account requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and manage a high volume of emails, order activity, and follow-up tasks in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• 2-4 years of experience in logistics, customer service, order management, supply chain coordination, or a related field.
• Prior experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience is preferred.
• Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and manage responsibilities with limited supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners.
• Proven organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Capacity to handle a large workload efficiently, including frequent email communication and detailed order tracking.
• Familiarity with retail or export customers, multi-currency environments, or related logistics processes is a plus.
