D&J Power is a Texas-based company specializing in new powerline construction, as well as the maintenance and repair of both overhead and underground distribution systems. The company serves municipalities, electric membership cooperatives, and investor-owned utility providers, offering comprehensive powerline distribution and construction services.

Position Summary
D&J is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead utility construction projects from concept through completion while driving production efficiency, cost control, customer satisfaction, and field accountability.This role is critical to helping D&J scale operations profitably. The Sr. CPM will oversee labor productivity, CU/man-hour tracking, change-order management, project execution, and field performance across multiple crews and customer programs.The ideal candidate understands utility construction operations, labor forecasting, customer documentation requirements, and how to maintain production while delivering a safe, high-quality product with zero rework.This position includes local travel up to 60%. Company vehicle and fuel card provided.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Oversight
- Manage projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Coordinate schedules, manpower, equipment, and customer deliverables
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Conduct routine field visits and production reviews
Financial & Production Management
- Track crew productivity against estimated CU/man-hours
- Monitor labor burn rates and production efficiency daily
- Forecast labor overruns and implement corrective action plans
- Analyze project profitability and production trends
- Maintain cost visibility across all active projects
Maximo / CU-Based Management
- Manage projects utilizing CU/man-hour structures
- Ensure field documentation supports labor overages
- Oversee redlines, as-builts, and unit tracking
- Coordinate and submit change-order documentation
- Ensure all recoverable costs are documented and captured
Field Leadership
- Support field supervisors and crews with operational planning
- Drive accountability for production goals and schedules
- Reduce rework, inefficiencies, and “go-backs”
- Ensure alignment between office operations and field execution
Customer Relations
- Maintain strong communication with utility customers and inspectors
- Participate in customer meetings and project reviews
- Ensure compliance with customer standards and reporting requirements
QualificationsRequired
- 7+ years of utility construction/project management experience
- Experience working field crews and managing subcontractors
- Strong understanding of CU/man-hour productivity tracking
- Experience with change orders and customer documentation
- Ability to read construction drawings and utility specifications
- Strong Excel and reporting skills
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred
- Experience with Maximo or another construction tracking software
- Electric utility distribution/transmission experience
- Experience with energized/de-energized utility work
- OSHA knowledge and safety leadership experience

Pay: $110,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
