Duties
- Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using hand tools, power tools, and trowels to achieve the desired surface texture and appearance
- Install rebar and metal mesh reinforcement according to schematics and safety standards to ensure structural integrity
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute concrete finishing tasks and coordinate with other trades such as carpentry or masonry
- Operate heavy equipment like concrete mixers, pumps, and screeds to facilitate efficient pouring and finishing processes
- Apply caulking, stucco, or plastering techniques for renovation projects or aesthetic enhancements on concrete surfaces
- Set forms and molds for concrete pouring, ensuring proper alignment and levelness for floors, walls, or decorative features
- Perform heavy lifting and manual labor required for site preparation, form installation, or material handling on construction sites
Requirements
- Proven experience in concrete finishing with a strong understanding of construction site procedures and safety protocols
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, heavy equipment operation, and concrete mixing machinery
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions accurately
- Skilled in rebar installation, form setting, flooring installation, tile laying, and masonry techniques
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and project timelines is a plus
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license with commercial driving experience preferred for site mobility or equipment transport
- Additional skills such as welding, roofing, framing carpentry, metal stud framing, restoration work or heavy equipment operation are advantageous
